10x20 Silicone Reusable Microgreen Grow Medium
Tired of the mess and waste that comes with soil and coco coir? Our 10x20 Silicone Reusable Microgreen Grow Medium offers a clean, soil-free alternative that reduces single-use growing materials while simplifying your microgreen setup. Designed to fit standard 10x20 trays, this food-grade silicone grow mat is a practical option for both home and commercial growers.
Why Choose Silicone for Your 10x20 Trays?
Unlike traditional grow mediums that need replacing after every harvest, this hydroponic reusable silicone mat can last for months with proper care—helping reduce waste and ongoing supply costs. The 1.2mm hole pattern supports moisture retention and root aeration, while the flexible silicone design makes handling, seeding, and cleanup easier.
This medium works well for many popular microgreen varieties, including Sunflower, Radish, Broccoli, Arugula, Basil, Cabbage, Kohlrabi, and most Brassica family crops.

Simple Care & Maintenance for Maximum Longevity
Cleaning: After harvest, use our Microgreen Medium Scraper/Cleaning Tool to remove root residue. Wash with warm water and a free-and-clear dish soap (or another silicone-safe, food-safe soap). The flexible silicone surface makes root removal quicker and easier than rigid materials.
Sanitization between grows: For deeper sanitation, carefully pour boiling water over the mat or submerge it for 1–2 minutes (use caution when handling hot water). Allow the mat to air dry fully before reuse. Many growers sanitize in batches after harvest.

Seed Compatibility
✅ Works Well With:
Sunflower, Pea, Radish, Broccoli, Kale, Cabbage, Arugula, Basil, Mustard Greens, Kohlrabi, and most Brassica varieties
⚠️ More Challenging:
Amaranth, very fine Mustard seeds, and other tiny seeds may require adjustments. We are currently testing Amaranth further as of 1/21/26 after a customer confirmed successful results.
❌ Not Recommended:
Swiss Chard, Beets, and Cilantro (these perform better in soil or coco coir)
💡 Best Without a Medium:
Pea varieties with aggressive root systems often perform best directly on mesh trays without a grow medium.
Detailed seed compatibility infographics are included in the product photos.
Start Small, Scale Confidently
If you’re new to reusable grow mediums, we recommend starting with a 2-pack to test the setup in your environment. Once you’re dialed in, 10-packs offer better value for higher-volume growing.
Want to compare materials? Try our 10x10 Sampler Pack featuring both silicone and stainless steel samples to find your perfect match.
Discontinued: Stainless Steel 10x20 Version
As of January 2026, we’ve discontinued the stainless-steel version of our 10x20 grow medium to focus on silicone, which has become the preferred option for most growers. We still carry 10x10 Stainless Steel Reusable Grow Medium, and feedback is welcome if you’d like to see the 10x20 size return in the future.
