This is the mesh tray, with drainage holes. For bottom-watering, you nest this holed tray inside a solid 10x20 tray with no holes — the holed tray holds your crop and media, the solid tray holds the water. The side cutouts make lifting the top tray easy for checking water levels. If you only buy one type, most growers need both: one holed and one solid per growing slot.
