Growing microgreens in Small (Miniature) Sprouting Trays? This reusable silicone grow medium is pre-cut to fit perfectly, giving you a clean, soil-free growing surface that holds up for months of continuous use.

Key Specifications

  • Pre-Cut Dimensions: 4.5" x 7.825", fits Small (Miniature) Sprouting Trays perfectly
  • Hole Size: 1.2mm, great for moisture retention
  • Material: Food-grade platinum-cured silicone with a fiberglass core for durability. 3rd party tested for FDA compliance. LFGB tested and compliant.
  • Lifespan: Rated for 20 to 30+ grow cycles per sheet with proper care

Why Growers Choose Silicone

The flexible design makes handling, seeding, and cleanup easier in the compact sprouting tray format. It supports moisture retention and root aeration while staying gentle on your hands when you harvest and clean up. Root removal is faster than it is on a rigid surface, which matters when you are running several small trays at once.

Works well with most popular microgreen varieties including Sunflower, Radish, Broccoli, Arugula, Basil, Cabbage, Kohlrabi, and most Brassica family crops.

Care and Maintenance

  • Cleaning: After you harvest, use our Microgreen Medium Scraper/Cleaning Tool to remove root residue. Wash with warm water and a free-and-clear dish soap, or another silicone-safe, food-safe soap.
  • Sanitization: For deeper sanitation between grows, carefully pour boiling water over the mat or submerge it for 1 to 2 minutes. Allow to air dry fully before reuse.
  • Read our complete silicone care guide for stain troubleshooting and long-term maintenance tips.

Seed Compatibility

✅ Works Well With: Sunflower, Pea, Radish, Broccoli, Kale, Cabbage, Arugula, Basil, Mustard Greens, Kohlrabi, and most Brassica varieties

⚠️ More Challenging: Amaranth, very fine Mustard seeds, and other tiny seeds may require adjustments

❌ Not Recommended: Swiss Chard, Beets, and Cilantro, which perform better in soil or coco coir

💡 Best Without a Medium: Pea varieties with aggressive root systems often perform best directly on mesh trays

Prefer Stainless Steel?

We offer this same pre-cut size in 316-grade stainless steel if you want a rigid surface that resists cuts and tears. Not sure which suits your setup? Our 10x10 Sampler Pack includes both materials so you can test them side by side.
