Looking for simple, durable trays for sprouting and microgreen growing? These food-safe sprouting trays give you the essentials—a mesh tray for growing and a solid bottom tray for watering—without the extras. Available in two sizes to fit different growing needs, these trays are built for repeated use and work perfectly with our reusable grow mediums for soil-free growing.

*Note about this product (4/30/26): The Large sized sprouting trays will be leaving our store once it sells out. Our manufacturer is discontinuing production of the large sprouting trays due to rising material costs. We will still carry the large sprouting tray sized reusable grow medium, as well as the small sprouting trays, but the large sprouting trays & tray kit will no longer be available unless we hear otherwise. If you are looking for a tray that grows a similar amount of microgreens without being quite as big, we highly suggest our 7x14 Tray Kit as a great replacement.

Why These Trays Work

Simple two-tray system: Each set includes a white mesh tray for growing and a green solid bottom tray for water collection. The mesh allows for excellent drainage and airflow while the bottom tray catches excess water for bottom-watering setups. Clean, efficient, and effective.

Two sizes for different needs: Choose the small size for compact growing spaces or testing new varieties, or go with the large size for more substantial harvests. Both sizes work with our pre-cut reusable grow mediums for soil-free microgreen production.

Built to last: Made from food-safe PP (Polypropylene) plastic that withstands repeated use. We've grown countless microgreen varieties on these sprouting trays both indoors under grow lights and outdoors with excellent results. With proper care, these trays serve you well season after season.

Compatible with reusable grow mediums: Both tray sizes work perfectly with our pre-cut silicone and stainless steel reusable grow mediums, giving you a complete soil-free growing system when paired together.

The mesh design provides excellent airflow and drainage—critical for preventing mold and promoting healthy sprout and microgreen growth.

How to Use

For sprouting (larger seeds): Place seeds directly on the white mesh tray. Add water to the green bottom tray for bottom-watering. The mesh supports seeds while allowing roots to grow through for excellent aeration.

For microgreens (small seeds): Place a compatible reusable grow medium on the mesh tray, add seeds on top. The medium holds moisture and prevents small seeds from falling through while the mesh provides structure and drainage. Can also be used with soil or coco coir.

Bottom-watering: Fill the green bottom tray with water. The mesh tray sits inside, allowing roots to access moisture from below while maintaining proper drainage and airflow.

Care & Maintenance

Cleaning: Hand-wash with warm, soapy water between grows. The simple two-piece design makes cleaning quick and straightforward.

Storage: Dry thoroughly before storage. Store out of direct sunlight to maximize lifespan.

Longevity: With proper care, these food-safe PP trays last through many growing cycles.
